Sister Sounds Selection: Arima Ederra - Nothing like a mango...

WHO                   Arima Ederra (http://arimaederra.com/)
WHAT                  R&B / Soul / Psychedelic Soul
WHERE              From Las Vegas, Nevada. Now living in L.A.
LYRICTRY           "We cherry picking on the moon, can I have a dance with you?"
INFLU'S              Ethiopian sounds, Amel Larrieux, Lauryn Hill and Little Dragon's Yukimi Nagano.
WHY                    Her voice brings to our ears sweet mango-like sounds.

Closing your eyes. Then watching strangers, sit, stand and go from London's grey underbelly - the tube. Her soulful sound and message reminds you amongst the sea of expressionless, gazeless tube faces, that we all need a breather from our egos: to relax, release repression, be in the moment and free within our vulnerability.

We love Arima as we feel an affinity with her message to be yourself, "unapologetically." To express, to explore your self within the city, to question and see connections, to accept the #temporaryfixes of life and finally, to stop holding yourself back and D.I.Y.

When asked by Smashd's Nneoma Akubuilo 'What does the word "hustle" mean to you?', she replied (our now fav. Arima quote)...

Hustle means you are all you got. So get up right now because ... if you're not going to get up for yourself, nobody else will.
