Poetry: Carefully we must tread

Poetry: Carefully we must tread

harbouring things
in our heads

forever
focusing
on those words
and actions
that cannot be
undone
or unsaid

tunneling backwards
and
forwards

never
revelling
in the present

oh
what
wasted
blood
is
bled

as
we
wrap
ourselves
in
questions
bred
from
looking
below

our
tippytoes

which are
ever
so close
to the
            edge
